How did you become a part of the DeepLearning.AI community?
In 2019, I created AI MEXICO. Headquartered in Ensenada, Mexico, AI MEXICO is an education and development initiative; we build AI products for startups, turn aspiring workers into ready-to-hire AI professionals, help companies adopt AI, and provide solutions for organizations looking to enter LATAM markets. Today, we have 600+ members across 8 countries.
It’s important for us to do good work and choosing our collaborators has been key. DeepLearning.AI is second to none as a practical and effective educational platform, and their instructors and mentors are second to none when it comes to AI expertise. The DeepLearning.AI community also represents an opportunity for AI MEXICO to gain a global perspective of AI. I’ve got to thank my wife Karla for making this collaboration happen!
What has the experience of being an Event Ambassador experience been like for you?
AI MEXICO’s Pie & AI meetups and workshops are not just a source of inspiration for every stage of learners, they’re also helping us bring meaningful AI work to Mexico and LATAM. We have influenced the creation and industry alignment of the Data Science undergraduate program at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Campus Ensenada, and the Masters and Doctorate programs in AI at the UABC.
Being an Event Ambassador has shifted our focus from the methods and the maths to the citizens and the community. DeepLearning.AI makes it easy to connect us with people across the world working towards a similar vision of making AI accessible.
