Hello! if a medical student who is into machine learning and computer science wants to continue his career in computer science ,do you think that the medical studies will be an advantage for him or it is better to quit medical school and major in computer science to be focused?

Hi Mohamed,

That's a very personal question, nobody knows because it depends how much the student likes medicine and how much he likes computer science.

Something for him to consider is that you don't need to go to college to learn computer science. You can easily take online courses and just learn by yourself.

But medicine is something you need to go to college to practice.

Therefore, if he is hesitant, I would recommend him to continue doing the medicine course. It's much easier to change later from medicine to computer science than from computer science to medicine. I know plenty of programmers who studied philosophy and other courses. You don't need a computer science course to do computer science.
