Image preprocessing for segmentation problem

I was a graduate from Coursera Deep Learning Specialization. Recently I am working on semantic segmentation problem. The images in the training dataset has a very low contrast and the structure is even not clear enough to be labeled by a human. I was wondering if there is any image pre/post-processing techniques which are usually applied to similar dataset like this?

Hi,

You should try an histogram equalization to enhance contrast and an unsharp masking to sharp the images.
